Antique Victorian Etruscan Revival Seed Pearl Gold Filled Oval Locket, Ornate Metal Work, Circa 1880s
This is a glorious antique Victorian Etruscan-Revival gold filled oval locket. The Etruscan design of this Victorian period piece strives to reclaim the glory of the ancient Italians. It is very old (over 100 years old) and remains in a fabulous condition.
The locket has an oval construction highlighted by intricate metal work, three seed pearls and textured edge design on the front with its original ornate hanging bale. Opening from the side, it reveals two compartments for photos. It still retains two bezels and one glass cover (an indication of a locket made prior to the turn of the twentieth century). People in the old time wore the locket close to their hearts with loved one's photos or a lock of hair, which is so romantic and sentimental!
