Large Antique F&B Sterling Silver Chatelaine Round Shape Locket, No Monogram, 29.5" Sterling Silver Chain
This is a fabulous and large sized sterling silver round shape locket made by F&B (Foster & Bailey Company) in the 1910s-1920s. The front of the locket has textured engine-turned details with a rhombus shape space in the center for personal engraving. Clean on the back, so it will be perfect to add your or your loved one's initials if desired. The locket opens from the side to reveal two compartments for photos and it still retains all its original components: two bezels/frames and two film covers.
It is hung on a 29.5" sterling silver chain, so it is ready to give or wear.
Measurement of the locket: 1.5" in diameter (without counting the bale and jump ring).
Metal and Hallmark: it is marked "F&B" and "STERLING". "F&B" stands for Foster & Bailey Company, which was in business from 1878 in Providence, RI.
Total weight with chain: approx. 24.6 grams; Locket Weight: approx. 21 grams (quite heavy!)
Condition: very good antique condition with age appropriate scratches, wear and tarnish. Opens well and closes securely with a click. Please refer to the listing images for the general condition.
