The breath-taking beauty of this antique late Victorian/Edwardian natural unheated Burmese ruby and old mine cut diamond ring can not be understated!

Crafted with 18K gold and platinum, this ring features a row of five cushion cut natural rubies set in between two rows of 7 (14 total) antique old mine cut diamonds forming an alternating gem rectangular motif.

All the rubies have a deep and saturated purplish pink red body tone, which is the most desirable color and specimen of ruby of this kind. And more importantly, the ring has been sent to the ultimate gem authority: Gemological Institute of America (GIA) for certification. GIA performed a random test among of the five rubies and stated the ruby's origin is Burma (Myanmar) and has no indication of heating (see the last listing image for details).

The two rows of equally chunky and charming old mine cut diamonds are very white and fiery. All the gemstones are prong set mounted on an open-back ornate platinum basket gallery with 18K base. The ring is finished with a graduated smooth shank (meaning it is resizable by your local jeweler).

The entire ring is low profile and sits comfortably on a finger with mesmerizing glitters because of all the high quality gems.

Approx. Measurement / Size of gemstones:

Rubies: Center ruby: approx. 0.32 carat by formula and five rubies have an estimated carat weight of 1.25 ctw (I use a very conservative estimate to be on the safe side, the actual carat weight should be between 1.25 ctw to 1.50 ctw).

14 surrounding diamonds: approx. 1.00 ctw.

Metal: 18K gold and platinum (unmarked but tested).

Size: 5.5 It can be resized easily by a jeweler.

Weight: 4.5 grams.

Condition: very good antique condition. The rubies and diamonds have natural inclusions and some surface wear commensurate with age and use. The gold setting has age appropriate wear and patina. Please refer to the listing pictures for general condition.

This is a precious heirloom piece, which could be a perfect anniversary ring or gorgeous cocktail ring!
