Antique Victorian Gold Filled Old Cut Diamond Starburst Oval Shape Photo Locket Necklace, No Monogram

This is another gorgeous and sought after antique Victorian gold filled oval-shaped locket with 11 sparkly old mine cut/old European cut diamonds and each is set in a starburst design (10 points or 0.10 ct each and total 1.10 ctw, VS-I clarity, colors are hard to accurately assess because they are all quite small and strongly influenced by the color of the gold setting).

The back is clean with no engravings, which is quite unusual for a piece this old.

As a passionate antique locket collector myself, I have a big love for Victorian starburst lockets. Measurement: 2 " long (including the top bale but not the jump ring); and 1 & 3/8" wide. All measurements are approximate.

Metal: unmarked gold filled as revealed by a small file mark near the bottom edge of the back panel. The file mark also shows the layer of gold is quite thick, so this piece has quite a bit of solid gold in it. It will last for generations.

Circa 1890s-1900s.

Condition: very good antique condition with age appropriate tarnish and wear. A few shallow tooth-bite marks on the back panel near the top. A small file mark near the bottom edge of the back panel. The locket has no bezels but snuggly cut photos can stay securely inside. It opens well and closes securely with a snap. Please refer to all the listing pictures for the general condition.
