This antique early 1900s solid gold fleur-de-lis old cut diamond locket is a classic piece for your wardrobe.

The Fleur-de-lis, a classic French symbol, has been a popular jewelry motif for several centuries and reached its peak during the late 19th to early 20th century. This antique solid gold (12k-14k) old cut diamond locket is a prime example of early 1900s American made Fleur-de-lis jewelry.

Similar examples can be found in 1916-1917 - MARGOLIS WHOLESALE JEWELRY CO. CATALOGUE and CBN Jewelry Catalogue 1910 (see the last image).

Diamonds: approx 0.35 ctw, a mix of old mine and old European cut, J/K in color (hard to be accurate due to the gold setting), VS/SI in clarity.

Metal: unmarked but tested 12k-14k. I believe it was meant to be made in 14K. The variation in gold content is very typical for antique jewelry due to manually done alloy mixing which was not always precise.

Weight: approx. 10.9 grams.

Monograms: possibly "JMC" or "MH"

Size: 1 & 5/8" by 1 & 5/16".

Excellent condition with very minor wear. Perfect click shut. One bezel and one film cover inside. Please refer to the listing images for the general condition.

This is a precious period piece that you will own with no disappointment.

*The listing is for the locket only. If you need a chain to go with the locket, I would be happy to provide a 18" gold filled chain at no cost. The chain style varies depending on what is available in my inventory. Please send me a note at or before your checkout.
