Antique Victorian 15K 15CT Solid Gold Wreath Oval Locket, Ornate Floral Metal Work, Circa 1880s

This beautiful and romantic genuine antique Victorian oval locket is crafted from 15k solid gold.

The front features a tri-color gold wreath decor. The back is clean, so its perfect to add your personal engravings.

Opening from the side, it reveals one compartment by design with all the original components: one bezel ring and one glass cover. The glass cover truly indicates it was made at or before the turn of the 20th century. The compartment is perfect to put pressed flowers, your loved one's photo or another personal memento so you wear it close to your heart! Overall, this is a completely charming and precious piece of history!

Size: It measures about a little over 1.5" (just the oval) long × 1 & 1/8" wide.

Locket weight: approx. 18.1 grams.

Metal: 15K solid gold (unmarked but tested with electronic tester and confirm with acid). This is an American made locket from the late 19th century. While 14k was the standard, this one was a little higher than the standard. This is due to the fact that the gold mixing in the old time was not as standard as today, and it could go above or below the norm a little. The variation in gold content happens a lot in antique pieces.

Circa 1880s-1890s.

Condition: Very good antique condition with minor tarnish and wear. The jump ring is a gold filled replacement. Good and secure snap closure. Please refer to all the listing pictures for the general condition.
