Antique Victorian 10K Solid Rose Gold and Platinum Old Mine Diamond Starburst Watch Fob Photo Locket, Monogram Engraved MRT, Circa 1893
This late 19th century watch fob locket is crafted with alternating 10K solid rose gold and platinum panels. The design is neat and unusual. It has a small but sparkly old mine cut diamond (approx. 10 points) set in the center forming a starburst pattern. The back has an engraving with what appears to be the letters "MRT" in some sequence and dated "OCT 27 1893", indicating the piece is well over 100 years old. Opening from the top, it reveals two photo compartments. It retains both original bezel rings/frames, two old photos of a young man and glass covers. Like many Victorian watch fob lockets, it has an ornate hanging setting at the top.
A similar example can be found on Pg 30 "Illustrated Jewelry Catalogue 1892"(see Item No. 3011).
