Antique Iberian Rose Cut Diamond 18K Gold Cross Pendant, Crucifix Religious Charm Pendant

At ~200 years old, this is one of the oldest yet most charming pieces that I have ever collected!! It is straight from my personal collection, and is meant for serious collectors or souls similar to myself who appreciate old historical jewelry.

This rare antique cross pendant is from the late 18th century to early 19th century, likely Iberian provincial origin. It is completely hand made with solid 18K gold. The front of the cross has a subtle floral detailed motif that highlights 6 closed back rose cut diamonds in rubbed-over collet settings.

Origin: Most likely the Iberian peninsula (Spain or Portugal).

Metal: 18K (unmarked but tested).

Size: 2 & 1/8" long (including the top bale but without the jump ring) and 1 & 5/8" wide.

Weight: approx. 9.8 grams.

Diamond measurement: there are 6 diamonds of varying size. The largest/center one: approx. 4.5mm x 3.8mm, the remaining diamonds vary from 3.75mm-3.5mm. I am not able to provide the weight of the diamonds as they are all closed-back (which makes it virtually impossible to precisely gauge the diamonds). Please keep in mind that these diamonds are not measured, cut, or graded by today’s modern standards, but they have tons of antique charm that modern diamonds cannot compare with.

Condition: very good antique condition with age related wear and imperfections. The jump ring could be a later replacement. Seen with magnification-- all of the diamonds have either some inclusions, tiny chips & rough unpolished sides / edges (normal for the period). All diamonds are securely set.
