Antique French 18K Solid Gold Filigree Ornate Link Watch Chain Necklace, Choker Layering Chain, 16.5 Inches

Of French origin, and dating back to the late 19th century/early 1900s, this antique 18K sold yellow gold filigree link watch chain is simply breath-taking. Measuring in at 16.5", which is a very desirable length, this chain has the most gorgeous design that I have ever seen.

The whole chain is crafted with ornate long-grained filigree open work links alternating with small delicate knot links. The chain is connected to its original thumb clasp and swivel clip. This fabulous piece can be a perfect layering chain to be worn by itself or with your favorite charms pendants/lockets. Over the several thousand antique chains that I have sold or handled, I can say with confidence that this type of French antique watch chain is quite rare as a majority of the French antique chains in the current market are 50" or longer muff chains. The chances of finding a shorter but wearable choker chain is so much lower. In addition, this chain is superior in quality: every single link is extremely well made with fine details and solid weight, which makes it withstand age and wear much better.

Measurement: 16.5" length; and 6 mm link width (filigree pieces). All measures are approximate.

Metal: 18KT Gold (the swivel clip and thumb clasp are both stamped with French weevil import mark for minimum gold purity of 18K. There are three other marks on one link that is near the swivel. One is the city mark of Paris, which was in use from 1847. The remaining ones I believe are gold weight warranty marks). Tested as such.

Condition: excellent antique condition with very minor wear. Please refer to all the pictures for the general condition.
