Antique 14K Gold GIA Burma Burmese No Heat Ruby Old Mine Cut Diamond Crescent Brooch
Exquisite late Victorian 14k GIA Burmese no heat ruby old mine diamond crescent brooch. This piece is from my personal collection but now, reluctantly, I offer it to our clients.
Rubies:
Largest ruby: 0.91ct by a conservative estimate.
Second largest rubies (2): ~0.6ct and 0.45ct, both are similar in diameter but one is a deeper stone.
Total rubies:~3.00 CTW
I had the brooch sent to GIA for a random testing on one stone and GIA states its origin is Burma (Myanmar) and has no indication of heating. The color is red with no modifier tone, which is super desirable in gem trade.
As many of you know, being a certified unheated ruby alone puts it in the top 1% of all rubies/corundum in the market. A ruby originating from Burma (Myanmar) commands an extremely high premium due to its scarcity, quality, and value.
Diamonds: two largest: 0.6 ct each, total 2.52ctw, old mine cut, HIJ in color, VS/SI in clarity, 100% eye clean.
Metal: 14k. Unmarked, which should be expected, but tested.
Measurement: 1.5" by 1"
Weight: 8.99 grams
Excellent antique condition with minor wear. The rubies and diamonds have inclusions which are part of their natural characteristics. The pin stem can be completely hidden inside the catch, which makes it very comfortable to wear without feeling the sharp end.
