Substantial Antique Victorian Aesthetic Movement Two- Color 9CT/9K Gold Mixed Metal Etched Sterling Silver Rectangular Locket, Gift for Her

This is a rare and gorgeous antique Victorian sterling silver rectangular shaped locket. It is most likely English origin. Influenced by the Victorian Aesthetic Movement, the locket has beautiful hand etched two-color rose and green gold overlay floral details on the front. Amazingly, the back is clean. It opens to reveal two large compartments with both original photo bezels/frames intact, which can hold pictures, secret notes, or small treasures.

Locket Measurement: approx. 2 & 1/4" long (from top to bottom), 1.5" if only counting the rectangular shape, and 1 & 1/4 inches wide.

Hallmark- unmarked, which is not uncommon for the period. Tested as sterling silver.

Weight: about 23.5 grams.

Circa 1880s.

Condition: very fine antique condition with age appropriate wear, scratches, and nicks. The closure is firm and secure.

It is an outstanding piece that represents the beautiful craftsmanship and aesthetic design of Victorian jewelry.
