Substantial Antique Solid 10K 12K Gold Ornate Link Watch Chain, 16 Inches, Watch Fob Choker Chain, Statement Necklace

From the late Victorian era, this magnificent handmade solid gold watch chain was once connected to a gentleman's pocket-watch, but now it extends its life as a gorgeous eye-catching statement necklace. Made with extremely fine workmanship, the chain has a heavy duty -- yet ornate open work -- long bar link and short inter-locking link design. Both the long and short links have a variety of elaborate details.

This type of chain doesn't come up on the market often so is sought after by collectors. It is solidly built with substantial weight. It can be worn by itself or perfectly accompany your favorite locket or pendant!

The total length of the chain is 16" ( just the chain only without counting the T-bar) with original clasps, swivel clip, and T-bar section (approx. 1.5"). The center big bolt clasp (circa 1920s) with its jump rings are a later addition and it is gold filled.

Metal: unmarked. The gold content ranges from 10K-12K. We tested with electronic tester and confirmed with acid. The slight inconsistency is not unusual for jewelry made in the old time as mixing alloy was manually done, so the proportions were not always quite as precise as they are today.

Total weight (with the gold filled findings): approx. 47.8 grams.
