This impressive and substantial antique Victorian 18K rose cut diamond cross will completely take your breath away! From mid-19th century France, this piece is about ~160 years old!, and is probably one of the most magnificent pieces that I have ever had the pleasure to collect!! And now, it is time to share it with my Etsy clientele.

This rare antique cross pendant is crafted with solid 18K yellow gold. Fluid and ornate open work design around the cross with floral details surrounding the center. The front highlights 7 high quality illuminating rose cut diamonds set in closed-backed silver collets, which is typical for the era.

Circa 1850s-1860s

Origin: France

Metal: 18K and silver (collet only). The back hook is stamped with a series hallmarks, including a "horse head" mark, which was struck in 18K gold jewelry or jewelry containing gold parts between 1838 and 1919 in France. This piece is also professionally tested by regional renowned jeweler

Size: approx. 3" in length (including top to bottom) and 1 & 3/4" in width Weight: approx. 15 grams (substantial) Diamond measurement: there are 6 diamonds on the main pendant and one diamond on the bale, which are varying in size: approx. 2.1-2.5mm. I am not able to provide the weight of the diamonds are they are all closed-back, which makes it virtually impossible to precisely gauge the diamonds. Please keep in mind that these diamonds are not measured, cut or graded by today’s modern standards, but they have tons of antique charm that modern diamonds cannot be compared with.

Condition: very fine antique condition with age appropriate wear, scratches, and patina. Seen with magnification-- all of the diamonds are pretty clear and sparkly. Some with minor inclusion and tiny chips & rough unpolished sides / edges (normal for the period). All diamonds are securely set. Please refer to all the listing pictures for the general condition.
