Antique Imperial Russian 14K Solid Gold Belcher Link Collar Chain Necklace, Locket Watch Chain, 21 Inches

This is perhaps one of most unusual and beautiful antique sold gold chains that I have come across!

It's 14K, circa late 19th century/early 20th century, and made in Imperial Russia (as clear hallmarks indicate!). Imperial Russian fine jewelry rarely come up in the market as many of them did not survive the Bolshevik Revolution. For that reason, they are sought-after!

Crafted with solid and ornate braided interlocking links, the chain is connected with an old style thumb clasp (which truly reveals the age of the chain!)

Measurement: approx. 21 inches; 2.4 mm in link width (all measurements are approximate).

Metal and hallmark: 14K (there are a series of hallmarks at both ends of the chain and the clasp, including imperial Russian 56 zolotnik gold standard for 14K, maker's mark "AE" and a location mark for either St. Petersburg or Moscow, which I am still researching).

Weight: 8.6 grams.
