This 14K beautiful genuine antique Victorian oval locket is a wonderfully sentimental keepsake!

It's truly for anyone who is looking for a memento to keep your loved one's photos, a lock of hair, or a small love note tucked away in (and still keep it near your heart). The front features a tri-color (green gold, rose gold, and silver) flower boutique motif. The back is engraved with a monogram "F". The top retains its original shield shaped ornate bale. Opening from the side, it reveals one compartment by design with its original bezel ring. It is completely charming and a precious piece of period jewelry!

This locket and its matching chain (which is available through a different listing and shown in the model picture) comes with a sentimental family history which was provided on a paper note from its previous owner: "Chain & locket a 16th birthday party gift to Rosie F [*****] (note the F.) on her sixteenth birthday. Since Rae was born in 1880 when Rosie was 30, this locket was given to Rosie in 1865 or 1866. Addie gave it to me (Ann) in 1979." It is amazing that this keepsake's entire history is known. It is even more amazing that it was kept in the same family for over 150 years.

Size: It measures about 2 & 1/4" (from top to bottom) or 1 & 9/16" long without the bale and top ring (just the oval shape), and 1 & 1/8" in width.

Condition: very fine antique condition with minor scratches, tarnish, and wear. The hinge is good and closure is secure and firm. Please refer to all the listing pictures for the general condition.
