This gorgeous Art Nouveau repousse sterling silver locket features the impeccable and vivid image of a nymph (a mythological spirit of nature imagined as a beautiful maiden). If it is not art, what is it?

"Nymph" along with 'Gibson Girl' are part of a classic jewelry style in the Art Nouveau Era. Pieces of the era typically feature a design with a pretty woman image, accented with fluid flower decors, flowing hair or scenery view. All extremely feminine!

The back is completely clean with no monograms, which is quite unusual for a piece this old.

Measurement of the locket: about 1 & 3/8" without the bale and jump ring, which is quite large in size compared to conventional 1" or 1 & 1/4" sized ones.

Metal and hallmark: STERLING (marked on the bezel).

Condition: very good antique condition with age appropriate scratches, patina, and wear. It comes with two bezels/frames, one film cover and a couple of old photos that belong to the original owner.
