This is a gorgeous, extremely well-made, and large sized sterling silver locket made in the Edwardian period. The locket has a general rectangular shape but the top and bottom are gently curved. It has ornate swirl/scrolled work etched details in both front and back. The front center also has a oval-shaped space for monogram or engravings, so it will be perfect to add your or your loved one's initials if desired. The locket opens from the side to reveal two compartments for photos and it still retains all its original components: two bezels/frames, two film covers, and two liners.

I designed and handmade a 26 inch sterling silver chain accented with genuine silver grey freshwater pearls and smoky quartz faceted stones, which seamlessly complements the texture and pattern of this lovely keepsake. Truly special!

Measurement of the locket: 1 & 7/8" long (without the bale and jump ring), and 1 & 9/16" wide

Metal and Hallmark: it is marked "STERLING" and a maker's mark inside.

Total weight with chain: approx. 31.2 grams; Locket Weight: approx. 25 grams (quite heavy!)

Circa 1910s-1920s.

Condition: very fine vintage condition with age appropriate wear and tarnish. Opens well and closes securely with a click.
