Antique Victorian Greek Revival Oval Gold Filled Photo Locket Necklace, Roman Warrior, 20 Inches Chain, Circa 1880s, Gift for Her

This is a very old but very romantic gold filled antique locket made in the Mid-late Victorian Era. Influenced by the Greek Revival movement in the late 19 century, the front is highlighting a left-facing roman warrior image. It also contains a clean back making it perfect to add engravings if desired.

Its condition is amazing given that this really old locket has lived through 100+ years' of life! What is further astounding is that it still retains its complete original components inside the two photo compartments- two bezels, a lock of hair, two glass photo covers (indicating the piece was made at or before the turn of twentieth century).

It opens from the side with the two bullet latches.

It is hung on a new gold filled chain (20 inches in length), so it's ready to continue its new journey.

Size: It measures approx 1&3/8" in height (excluding the bale and jump ring); 1" in width.

Metal: the locket is unmarked but most likely gold filled.

Condition: very good antique condition with age related tarnish/residuals, metal nicks, and wear. Please look through all the pictures as they are part of the description. The locket opens well and closes securely with a light click.
