Antique Victorian Emerald Chrysoberyl Pink Sapphire Five Stone 18K Gold Ring, Engagement Wedding Ring, Size 6.75

This is an exquisite antique early Victorian 18K gold five stone ring! It features two old cushion-cut emerald, two chrysoberyl (it was first tested as white sapphire but further test indicates it is chrysoberyl as both gemstones have similar refractive index), and one pink sapphire (it is also called ruby as rubies and sapphires are simply varieties of corundum) at the center.

The stones are prong-set with open-back, sitting on a low-profile but extremely delicate and ornate high relief rococo style ring gallery. The flowing floral design extends to the shoulder of the ring. One of the benefits of this ring is that the gem setting is open backed. This means it can be worn without being concerned about getting it wet. This is a problem seen in many earlier rings where the gems are foiled/closed back settings. Also, the low profile mounting and smooth yet ornate shoulder design makes it very very comfortable to wear.

Measurement of gemstones: emerald: 2.6mm, chrysoberyl: 3.1mm and pink sapphire: 3.3mm. Measurement is approximate.

Mounting metal: 18K (unmarked but tested)

Gemstone: emerald, chrysoberyl and pink sapphire. They are natural and tested by two different independent GIA graduated gemologist with microscope and, ultraviolet light and gemology refractometer.

Band width: approx. ranges from 2.3 mm-1.7mm;

Ring face-up measurement: 5.7 mm in width;

Rise above finger 3.2 mm

Manufacture method: hand set. Size: 6.75. It can be resized easily by a jeweler.

Weight : 2.1 grams.

Condition: very fine antique condition with age appropriate wear and patina. All gems are high quality and well cut with great saturation. The emerald has inclusions and minor chips/abrasions commensurate with age.
