This classic 10K late Victorian/Edwardian diamond starburst locket is a must-have piece for your personal wardrobe. In fact, it has traditionally been the most popular antique adornment piece. Thus, I have been extremely fortunate to come across this fabulous piece and offer for sale!

The center features a fiery and sparkly sizable prong set old European cut diamond (approx. 8 points) set in a starburst pattern.

It is an amazing old piece that remains in an impeccable condition as the locket still retains its original frames/inserts, glass covers and some old photos, which presumably belonged to the original owners.

There are three artistic monograms that appear to be "SFC" on the back.

As a personal preference, I love to collect solid gold lockets, if my budget allows. Also, I am particularly fond of Victorian starburst lockets. We have sold many over the years in our store. The popularity of this kind of locket can be attributed to its chic design, which makes it perfect for every day wear or special occasions.

This type of starburst lockets appear in various antique jewelry catalogs, including "E.V. Roddin & Company 1917", "CBN Jewelry Catalogue 1910" and "Illustrated Jewelry Catalogue 1892". This is our dating evidence and indicates this classic style has been in popularity from 1890s to 1910s. It goes without saying then that they are still popular now among collectors.

** The listing is for the locket only. If you would like to have a chain to go with the locket, I would be happy to provide a 18" gold filled chain at no charge (the style of chain may vary depending on what is available in my stock). Please send me a message before or at your checkout.

Size: approx. 1 & 3/8" in diameter (without counting bale and jump ring).

Metal: unmarked but tested around 10K.

Weight: approx. 10 grams.

Circa 1890s-1900s.

Condition: Very fine condition with normal wear. Perfect snap closure. Please refer to the listed pictures for the general condition.

This is a precious period piece that you will own with no disappointment.
