This antique 18K gold gypsy set sugarloaf cabochon natural blue sapphire ring is simply one-of-a-kind and breath-taking. More importantly, it was made by the renowned Tiffany & Co in the early 20th century.

The sapphire is gypsy set with open back and finished with a substantial graduated smooth solid sturdy shank. In addition, the sapphire is certified by the ultimate gem authority: Gemological Institute of America (GIA). GIA states that the sapphire is Cambodia in origin with no heat treatment. Measurement: 7.51 x 5.97 x 5.43mm, approx. 2.63 ct by formula. Cambodia sapphires are highly regarded in the gem trade. They have distinctive purity and intensity of color. Many people in the trade rate them almost as highly as Kashmir or Burmese sapphire, and above Ceylon, Thai, and Australian sapphire. I have seen Cambodia sapphires (esp. those from the Pailin area) used in many old jewelry pieces made by Tiffany & Co and Cartier.
