This precious antique high karat (tested 22k or higher) rose cut diamond and emerald cross pendant is from the late 17th century century Spain.

This pendant could be part of a bigger piece. Most survived examples we have seen are either set with diamonds or emeralds only, it's highly unusual to find a piece set with both gemstones.

Measurement: approx.1.5" (including to to end) long and 1&1/16" wide.

Emerald: approx. 4.9 mm x 4mm. The emerald is gem quality with the most desirable deep/alpine green hue.

Diamonds: rose cut, ranging from 3.3mm to 1.8mm, they were cut flat to provide the best light reflection and for the purpose of decoration instead of intrinsic value. Please bear in mind that rose cut is one of the oldest cut in diamond, and all of these old stones have either some surface imperfections/breaking, inclusions, tiny chips & rough unpolished sides / edges, which is normal for the period.

Weight: 5.83 grams.

Very fine condition with age appropriate wear and minor imperfections, which should be expected for a piece of this age. The bale appears to be an antique adaption.
