This gorgeous platinum crown setting 14K yellow gold creamy pearl and old mine antique cushion cut diamond two stone "toi et moi" engagement ring was crafted during the Edwardian period in a classic Belle Epoque style. It features an extremely white, clean, and a fiery antique old mine cut diamonds mounted on a 6-prong platinum crown and a creamy pearl (assumed it is cultured without further testing) mounted on a yellow gold pedal disc.
The ring is finished with a wavy shoulder with platinum highlights and a smooth and graduated shank. This "Toi et Moi", meaning ‘you and me’ in French, style of ring has a rich romantic connotation and fascinating history. One of the first Toi et Moi rings in jewelry history can be traced back to the Napoleon Era. In 1796, Napoleon --recently promoted to the commander of the French Army in Italy, offered to his new wife Josephine de Beauharnais a gorgeous Toi et Moi ring. Ever since then, this type of ring is a strong symbol of romance and love.

The diamond is 0.93 ct, I color and VS2 clarity. More Importantly, it is certified by the most respected gem authority: Gemological Institute of America (GIA): Report Number: 5191235859. Antique cushion cut diamond gained its popularity from 1830 to the turn of the century. Similar to old mine cut, antique cushion cut has an open culet and a rectangular to square shape with rounded corners. This diamond has all the classic characters: chunky shape, high crown with an open culet. They really glow with spectacular fire because of these characters! As a majority of the old cut diamonds on the market have a J color or lower and have visible inclusions. Thus an old cut stone in a high color and good clarity like this one is very hard to find.
Hallmark and metal: the band of the ring has a faint/partially rubbed off maker's mark and gold hallmark. It is tested 14K and platinum crown setting on the diamond.
Size: 8.5. It can be resized easily by a jeweler.
Weight: 3.8 grams.
Condition: very fine antique condition with age appropriate wear. Both the diamond and the pearl are securely set. However, given the age and delicate design of the ring, I recommend checking with your local qualified jeweler once a year to see if any service is needed.
