Antique Art Nouveau French 18k Repoussé Gibson Girl Oval Slide Locket, Gift for Her

Antique French Art Nouveau 18k Diamond High‑Relief Gibson Girl Slide Locket from early 1900 was part of my personal collection.

A true jewel of the Art Nouveau era — sculptural, romantic, and unmistakably French. This rare high‑relief slide locket features a classic Gibson‑girl‑inspired profile, framed by swirling florals and naturalistic curves that define the movement. Five tiny rose‑cut diamonds are nestled into the design, catching the light with that soft, antique shimmer collectors adore.

Like many French lockets of the period, it has a clockwise slide closure that stops at one end and opens smoothly counterclockwise by design — a charming mechanical detail unique to these 1900s creations. Inside, you’ll find:
One side with its original mirror in the original bezel
The other with a film‑covered photo compartment, also in its original bezel

Weight: 17.92 grams

Metal: 18k. The stamp on the bale appears to be a French Mercury mark. The locket tests as 18k gold. [Note: The small attached hanging ring is 14k gold and was added in antiquity, allowing the piece to be worn as a watch fob or hung from a ribbon].

Excellent antique condition with only gentle age‑appropriate wear. No issues to note — this one comes straight from my personal collection.
