Antique Early 1900s 9KT 9CT Australian Crest/Shield Shape Locket, Gift for Her

Fabulous antique early 1900s 9KT/9CT Australian crest/shield shape locket. It has a crest symbol surrounded by a kangaroo and an ostrich. A small line of engravings beneath read "Advance Australia".

A bit further research indicates that the symbol here is actually "the coat of arms of Australia" or a formal symbol of the Commonwealth of Australia. The history of the symbol dates the piece between 1908-1912.

Metal and Hallmarks: marked "9C" and maker's mark "A&C LD". The jump ring is gold filled.
