Antique Late Victorian 10k Watch Chain Choker Necklace, 16&3/8", Gift for Her

Breathtaking antique late Victorian 10k watch chain. It's super hard to find and made in high quality, truly a collector's dream. 

This chain has always stayed in the same family. It belonged to the grandfather of the prior owner, who lived in New York 1880-1953. 

Measurement: ~ 16 &3/8" and 9.6mm link width, a rare wearable length for those made in North America.

Metal: 10k marked on both the end link of the chain and the dog clip. 

Weight: ~46.5 grams of hefty weight

Every big link has what I call the "double gauge " design (two-layer link). The internal link needs to be completely worn down before the heavy grinding wear happens to the outer layer. This design greatly protects links from age wear!

Excellent antique condition overall with minor wear. The spring clasp tested lower karat (possibly gold filled). The prior owner said he was not aware of any alterations, but even if the clasp is a replacement, it was not done by him or must have been done in the older/grandfather's generation.
